There have been some recent changes in the top management of KPMG Czech Republic. Bent Walde-Jensen, formerly a member of the management committee, has taken over the management of the KPMG CEE Real Estate Practice as of 1 October 2007. He has been replaced on the management committee by Eva Racková, partner in charge of Risk Advisory Services.
KPMG Czech Republic has been strengthened by the appointment of a number of new partners. Monika Vítová and Milan Bláha have been appointed new partners in the Audit department, while Radek Halíček and Jon Mortimer have been appointed partners in the Tax and Financial Advisory Services departments respectively.
KPMG’s Global Insurance practice wins Reactions Magazine’s ‘Best Accounting Firm of the Year 2007’
KPMG’s Global Insurance practice was awarded Best Accounting Firm of the Year at the Reactions’ Global Awards Dinner ceremony in New York, August 28, 2007. Every year Reactions, the leading monthly insurance magazine, poll their readers to assess which firms, deals initiatives and industry figures are performing above the competition and are the leaders in their field. Over 3,000 CEO’s, directors, brokers, risk, reinsurance and insurance managers were contacted and interviewed both in person and by telephone or on-line questionnaire and the results were conclusive. KPMG was voted the Best Accounting Firm of the year 2007.

KPMG's Corporate and Indirect Tax Rate Survey 2007

Following the worldwide interest in our long term corporate tax rate survey, published in November last year, which tracked trends in corporate tax rates from 1993 through to 2006, we have, for the first time, included indirect tax rates, that is Value Added Tax (VAT) or Goods and Services Tax (GST).
